Of all the ways that one can approach the field of quality, Britt’s is possibly the most unusual. She was a croupier at the Copenhagen casino. She came to Italy in 1995 for love, and opened a shoe shop that she ran until 2010. At the time, Samantha Veneroni was looking for an assistant in the Quality Assurance (Feed and Food) department, and she contacted the mother of one of her son’s classmates: Britt. Entering a sector that was completely unknown to her, she found it so interesting that she never left. That’s not all, since 2021 she has held the post of Head of the Management System.
She maintains that the most important aspect of her job, or rather jobs, is controlling that every activity carried out by Dox-al takes place in full respect of rules and regulations set out by law and of the quality standards that the company has chosen to comply with, such as FAMI-QS, GMP+, ISO45001 and ISO14001. However, she aims to render the obligations and processes less stressful through constant communication with her colleagues, because “united, we are stronger”. As well as collaboration, Britt also appreciates the solidity of the company, and a healthy working environment, and personally feels the “desire to constantly improve”.
Coming from Northern Europe, Britt is particularly sensitive to the theme of sustainability, which is particularly prominent in her place of birth. “It is a subject that I am extremely passionate about, and I am delighted that Dox-al has also undertaken a process that renders it a prime objective, not only from an environmental point of view, but also social and economic”. Her all-round interest in people also comes from a memory, the unease she felt when a client from Northern Europe reported having found traces of human presences in the lorry that transported Dox-al goods, probably clandestine immigrants. “These are things that you usually read about in the papers, and it was sad and disturbing to come into such direct contact”.
When she is not involved in controls, Britt loves dancing Zumba, and is a great tennis enthusiast. Recently, she has been more of a spectator than a player, due to a problem with “tennis elbow”. Naturally, in the past, she was a fan of Caroline Wozniacki, the talented player from her home country, but she now supports Jannick Sinner, a player from her adoptive country. Perhaps because, as she says, she also found “a family” here.
